The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesday passed a resolution commending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the bravery of India’s armed forces in the successful execution of anti-terror operations, notably Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev.

The resolution was adopted during the NDA parliamentary party meeting held at the Parliament Library Building, chaired by PM Modi. This was only the second such gathering of the ruling alliance since the government assumed office in June 2024.

Prime Minister Modi was felicitated for his government’s firm response to the Pahalgam terror attack and for leading India’s diplomatic and strategic retaliation under Operation Sindoor. The NDA hailed his “exceptional leadership,” crediting his resolve and statesmanship for uniting the nation and boosting global support for India’s fight against terrorism.

The resolution also underscored international developments that endorsed India’s stance, including the United States’ designation of The Resistance Front (TRF) — the group behind the Pahalgam attack — as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation, and the BRICS Joint Declaration condemning the attack and denouncing double standards in counter-terrorism.

Highlighting India’s global diplomatic push post-Operation Sindoor, the NDA noted that 59 Members of Parliament, including those from Opposition parties, were sent to 32 countries to present India’s position on terrorism. The initiative was described as one of the most extensive global outreach campaigns ever launched by India, emphasizing the unity of Indian democracy in times of national interest.

The resolution also paid tribute to the courage of Indian security personnel during the operations, acknowledging their unwavering commitment and sacrifice. Condolences were extended to the families of those martyred in the Pahalgam terror attack.

Newly elected MPs were introduced to the Prime Minister during the meeting, which was attended by several senior leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut.

The meeting took place amid an ongoing parliamentary deadlock, with the Opposition demanding a debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and calling for its cancellation. (ANI)
